I have been very fortunate indeed to have been raised smack dab in the in the very heart of pheasant country here in eastern South Dakota. Our county seat of Redfeld rightfully lays claim to being “Pheasant Capital of the World.” This is where the first successful introduction of pheasants was made in the state, and we continue to hold among the highest of populations right up to this day. Heck, the school’s mascot is even a rooster pheasant!
